18th Century Wedding Sight

Like the wedding saying goes “Something Old…” The Hathaway House gives you just that! The Hathaway House in Suffield Ct is a wonderful place to get married will all of its rich history! The Hathaway House is shaded by a 300-year-old sycamore tree which was just a small tree when the house was built back in 1760’s! The grounds of the Hathaway House are covered in elegant gardens that are still maintained to this day!

The interior of the barn is approximately 30′ x 60′. The couple had setup enough tables and chairs for 120 guest in the barn.

The Hathaway House rents out its barn to couples who are planning their wedding. Next to the barn is a large field where in our case we set up a tent. However the field could also easily be used to for a cook out or a place for the kids to run and play!

Look at the size of that field! It would be perfect for an outdoor summer wedding or just some lawn games!

We set up a 20′ x 40′ Century Tent in the field to be used as a cocktail lounge. Within the tent we set up 6 high-top tables for the guest to gather around and indulge in a drink and share family stories.

A corner of this tent was closed off so the caterer could setup the different stations. This way you didn’t have to worry about the food getting cold!

In side the barn we setup tables and chairs for the guests and a sweet heart table for the newly weds. The couple also rented tables for the buffet, gift table, and cake table. And as for most weddings, the couple needed a dance floor. We supplied them with a 9′ x 12′ dance floor in the center of the barn for the friends and families to dance the night away on. The couple even rented a fan to prevent the barn getting to stuffy.
